
Shelby Engineering Ltd. is an Edmonton, Alberta based consulting Engineering firm established in 1982 to provide testing, inspection, and engineering services in the fields of Geotechnical, Environmental, Forensic and Materials Engineering and Materials Testing.
Shelby offers engineering and testing services to a wide assortment of projects, such as hospitals, warehouses, schools, high-rise buildings, highways, dams, dykes, retaining structures, treatment plants, railroads, subdivisions, and industrial sites. Clients include governmental agencies, school districts, architects, engineers, contractors and industry.
Shelby has provided consulting services related to environmental matters since 1987, investigating properties for environmental impact relating to (but not limited to) underground and above ground petroleum storage tanks, industrial site usage, commercial undertakings such as dry cleaning establishments and auto-repair centers, railway right-of-ways, winter snow dumps and antiquated construction materials including lead, asbestos, and PCB's. Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments prepared by Shelby are conducted in accordance with guidelines published by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA)
Shelby operates a fully equipped laboratory for testing soils, aggregates, asphalt and concrete. Our Materials Testing Laboratory is a CSA Category II certified concrete testing laboratory. Shelby can also supply a fully equipped field laboratory for on-site testing and inspection services capable of performing routine testing of soils, aggregates, asphalt, soil cement and concrete.
Shelby has offered these services to over 10,000 individual projects with a staff complement that varies seasonally from twenty to thirty-five. ![]()
